About the position

The Residential Interior Designer/Project Coordinator at Built Right Construction and Restoration is responsible for managing multiple residential remodeling projects from concept through installation. This role requires a strong design initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential design and construction, and will collaborate closely with clients and tradespeople to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workload independently and create full design concepts for projects.
  • Manage projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Complete business and project documentation including bid packages, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Create complete construction documentation and schedules using Chief Architect.
  • Create presentations from conceptual development through to final project documents.
  • Establish a disciplined approach to construction, including precise scheduling and budgeting.
  • Work closely with staff to manage the ordering, expediting, and procurement process.
  • Serve as the client liaison concerning all aspects of the design process from onboarding to final installation.
  • Coordinate all tradespeople throughout the design and construction process.
  • Attend all client and vendor meetings relating to the project and collaborate with team members assigned to the project.
  • Review design development and construction drawings to ensure accuracy and design intent is met for bid and construction.
  • Manage project delivery timeline, including dates, permitting, construction commencement and completion.
  • Establish and manage relations with the construction team to ensure delivery of space in accordance with lease, code, and other applicable requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years of Interior Design experience.
  • College degree or certification in Interior Design or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the entire design and construction process including concept, schematic, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, procurement, and installation.
  • Experience in Design Software skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Leadership skills are a plus.
  • Attention to detail and exceptionally well-organized.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
