About the position

La-Z-Boy is seeking a dedicated professional with a background in Interior Design to lead our In-Home Design program. This role is pivotal in conducting tailored home consultations, achieving sales targets, providing exceptional customer service, and mentoring store associates. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of home décor principles, be proficient in space planning tools, and bring excellent interpersonal skills to the table. In this position, you will conduct professional home consultations, creating customized design proposals that meet the unique needs of each client. You will be responsible for upholding and advocating the In-Home Design process, enhancing the performance of the In-Home Design Program through grassroots efforts, and managing client records, orders, and payments. Keeping an updated portfolio of In-Home design projects will also be a key part of your responsibilities. Sales and promotion are crucial aspects of this role. You will consistently achieve In-Home program sales targets and collaborate with store leadership to drive sales and promote the design program. Staying updated on the product line and capitalizing on promotions and grassroots initiatives will be essential for success. Customer experience is paramount, and you will uphold unparalleled standards for customer care. Engaging with store customers to ensure a positive experience and making decisions to ensure customer satisfaction and team cohesion will be part of your daily tasks. People development is another important responsibility. You will train and mentor associates on product knowledge and sales techniques, fostering a positive work environment. Utilizing company resources for continual learning and ensuring ethical standards will be part of your commitment to the team.

Requirements

  • Degree/Certification in Interior Design or equivalent experience
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • CIDA accreditation/ASID membership a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and floor/space planning tools
  • Solid grasp of home décor principles
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and work in a team
  • Ability to work the schedule and hours dictated by business needs, to include evenings, weekends and holidays
