About the position

The Cleary Company is seeking a talented Senior Residential Designer to create beautiful and functional living spaces. This role involves collaborating with clients to transform their vision into practical designs, managing budgets, and ensuring project execution from concept to completion. The designer will focus on optimizing space and creating harmonious layouts while staying updated with the latest trends in residential interior design.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to assess their needs and preferences for residential interior design projects.
  • Visit job sites to analyze space availability, design needs, and the purpose of space.
  • Create customized design solutions for homes, including floor plans, and collaborate with the Design Consultant to synchronize material selections, color schemes, and cabinetry and interior detail layouts.
  • Produce detailed design presentations and 3D renderings to effectively communicate ideas.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely project execution.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring client satisfaction from start to finish.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in residential interior design and sustainable design practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in residential interior design.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Chief Architect, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of spatial planning, color theory, and sustainable design principles.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and client-facing skills.
  • Advanced attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to express ideas both visually and verbally and be comfortable presenting in front of large groups, including clients and colleagues.
  • Initiative to anticipate problems and find solutions; must be organized self-starter.
  • Ability to work on all phases of design (Conceptual & Interior Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration).
  • Knowledgeable in Fixture and Finishes/Millwork drawings and detailing.
  • Ability to coordinate and follow through with Consultants and Vendors from all trades involved in project.
  • Knowledge of local building/ADA codes and regulations.
