About the position

The Residential Leasing Associate at The Durst Organization is responsible for managing the leasing process for residential properties, which includes scheduling tours, qualifying applicants, and preparing necessary paperwork. This role emphasizes customer service, effective communication, and adherence to Fair Housing regulations while promoting the company's commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Be highly accessible to prospects, brokers, and applicants during the leasing process.
  • Give effective presentations during property tours and maintain knowledge of current and future apartment availability.
  • Follow up tenaciously on lease agreements and process applications.
  • Promote amenity reservations and facilitate agreements for bike and storage.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Fair Housing Parameters and Rent Stabilization.
  • Exemplify integrity, courtesy, and professionalism in operations.
  • Build rapport with new prospects and residents.
  • Facilitate closing activities related to new lease agreements and monthly lease renewals.
  • Perform daily inspections of tour paths, leasing office, amenities, and vacant apartments.
  • Accurately compile prospect/applicant data for entry into relevant software platforms.
  • Track office traffic and phone inquiries for reporting purposes.
  • Replenish collateral materials and update online advertising and broker outreach.
  • Complete reports and projects as directed by the Leasing Manager.
  • Serve as a resource for sustainability initiatives within the organization.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in business administration or related field or equivalent experience.
  • New York State Real Estate Salesperson License.
  • Strong understanding of the New York Real Estate Rental Market.
  • Amiable demeanor with strong sales aptitude.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $70,000 - $80,000.
  • Eligible for commission and discretionary annual bonus.
