About the position

The Residential Manager is responsible for overseeing the provision of care and support services to individuals, ensuring their physical, social, and psychological well-being. This role involves managing staff, maintaining compliance with safety and health regulations, and promoting a positive living environment for clients. The manager will also participate in recruitment, training, and performance evaluations, while ensuring that all documentation and service plans are followed accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the provision of assistance to person(s) served to promote their well-being.
  • Monitors staff adherence to agency procedures for safety and health care.
  • Ensures staff completes all required documentation for quality services.
  • Supervises staff interactions to promote the rights of the person(s) served.
  • Conducts timely performance reviews and maintains a supportive work environment.
  • Participates in recruitment and hiring decisions for assigned locations.
  • Prepares and posts staff schedules in a timely manner.
  • Oversees staff training and maintains training records.
  • Reviews staff documentation including time and attendance.
  • Ensures staff is trained on Material Data Safety Sheets for chemicals/supplies.
  • Serves as a positive role model and supports staff development.
  • Conducts staff counseling and corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
  • Promotes individuality in living areas for person(s) served.
  • Implements systems for medical waste disposal and collection.
  • Provides feedback on staff documentation including progress notes and incident reports.
  • Ensures activity schedules are developed for each person served.
  • Oversees implementation of services in accordance with service plans.
  • Monitors compliance with audit systems and client rights.
  • Assists with incident and accident report tracking.
  • Responds to emergencies for person(s) served.
  • Participates in investigations involving persons served and employees.
  • Monitors labor hours and budget compliance for service sites.
  • Ensures timely submission of financial documentation and trust fund requests.
  • Trains staff on financial and administrative controls.

Requirements

  • One year of supervisory experience required.
  • Previous experience providing services to individuals with acquired brain injuries preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Experience in managing systems, processes, and people.
  • Working knowledge of regulations concerning services to individuals with acquired brain injuries.
  • Ability to use general office and adaptive equipment.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven supervisory skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or a Social Science, or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in residential services for individuals with disabilities.
