About the position

The Residential Mental Health Technician/Counselor at Blume Behavioral Health LLC is responsible for providing direct support services to clients suffering from mental illness or co-occurring disorders. This role involves supervising clients, ensuring their safety and participation in treatment, and assisting with daily living activities and community engagement. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including the potential for overtime and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise clients to ensure a safe and comfortable setting.
• Monitor clients' whereabouts, well-being, and safety at all times.
• Communicate with the clinical team regarding client resistance and assist in executing action plans.
• Ensure client participation and engagement in treatment and programming.
• Provide support during client crises and alert appropriate staff when needed.
• Update the clinical team on client status and progress.
• Conduct chart audits to ensure all clients are accounted for in the notes.
• Perform light cleaning and monitor the cleanliness of the facility.
• Manage laundry and monitor supplies needed for the facility.
• Facilitate shift change reports to ensure proper coordination of care.
• Participate in clinical meetings to discuss client updates and assist in treatment planning.
• Conduct client assignment audits to ensure participation in counseling and mentoring work.
• Participate in training offered by BBH to enhance clinical skills and effectiveness.
• Ensure clients are on time for groups and actively participating in treatment.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and interpret written information and write clearly and informatively.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to listen and respond to questions effectively.
• Ability to sit at a desk and move between locations as needed.
• Proficient in typing, handwriting, and using computers and phones.
