About the position

Goodwill NNE is seeking a high-energy Residential Program Coordinator for one of our homes in Portland, Maine. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a Direct Support Professional to learn and develop management skills while providing direct care to residents. The Residential Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting the Residential Program Manager with the operation of a residential, deaf, or community program, ensuring that all service recipients' needs are met effectively. This role is not only about managing the day-to-day operations but also about fostering a supportive and engaging environment for both residents and staff. In this position, the Residential Program Coordinator will respond to urgent matters related to service recipients, employees, and the facility in the absence of the Residential Program Manager. This includes ensuring the quality of the designated program in relation to service recipient needs and satisfaction. The coordinator will also work to ensure that all necessary certifications for facility staff are current, in accordance with agency policy. A key aspect of this role is to proactively engage with residents, setting examples in expectations for the staff and promoting a positive living environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Residential Program Manager with operating a residential, deaf, or community program.
  • Participate in staff management to ensure all service recipients' needs are met.
  • Respond to urgent matters related to service recipients, employees, and the facility in the absence of the Residential Program Manager.
  • Ensure the quality of the designated program regarding service recipient needs and satisfaction.
  • Work to ensure that all necessary certifications for facility staff are current within agency policy.
  • Proactively engage with residents while setting examples in expectations for the staff.

Requirements

  • One year experience in a residential setting.
  • Prior work experience with persons with challenging behaviors.
  • Certification and license as determined by program requirements.
  • Valid driver's license permitting operation of a vehicle in the State of Maine with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Evidence of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance.
  • A criminal background check that meets Agency standards.
  • COVID 19 Vaccination.

Nice-to-haves

  • Direct Support Professional Certification (or College of Direct Support).
  • Active CRMA, CRMA 40 Preferred.
  • NAPPI or Behavioral Intervention Certification.
  • CBIS (When applicable).
