About the position

The Residential Program Manager at Community Options, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the Direct Support Professionals and managing regional programs that provide person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves leading a team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services, managing staff schedules, and developing individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each individual.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train teams to support programmatic initiatives and daily routines.
  • Manage staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing for shifts.
  • Provide training on daily routines including cleaning, cooking, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
  • Manage team performance through effective communication and employee recognition.
  • Develop and implement activity programs including the Meaningful Day curriculum.
  • Communicate with families and guardians of individuals supported as needed.
  • Develop and update Individual Support Plans (ISP)/Person-Centered Plans (PCP) with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensure individuals are supported per their ISP/PCP including medication management and behavior management.
  • Complete program documentation and billable records accurately and timely.
  • Assist with monitoring the finances of individuals ensuring purchases are approved and documented.
  • Monitor the health and medical needs of individuals and report any concerns immediately.
  • Manage relationships with families and guardians of individuals in care.
  • Ensure work locations and vehicles are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • May be required to fill shifts when staffing issues arise.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of state regulatory agency operations and standards relevant to supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Experience with problem-solving against multiple priorities.
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leadership roles within similar settings.
  • Knowledge of additional support services for individuals with disabilities.
