The Residential Property Manager will oversee the management of multiple scattered-site affordable residential rental properties in Skokie, IL. This role is crucial for ensuring that low and moderate-income households have access to affordable housing options in the northern suburbs of Chicago. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the leasing process from beginning to end, ensuring compliance with various housing regulations including Section 8, Section 42, and IHDA. The Property Manager will also be tasked with qualifying new tenants, resolving tenant issues, coordinating with maintenance teams, and building strong relationships within the community. This position requires a proactive approach to property management and a commitment to serving the needs of the community.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple scattered-site affordable residential rental properties.
- Oversee the leasing process from beginning to end.
- Ensure compliance with Section 8, Section 42, IHDA, and other relevant regulations.
- Qualify new tenants and resolve tenant issues.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to address property needs.
- Build relationships within the community and with stakeholders.
- Lease new properties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in property management.
- Knowledge of affordable housing and government funding.
- Familiarity with LIHTC, Section 42, and Section 8 regulations.
- Strong leasing and negotiation skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Certified Occupancy Specialist certification.
- Bilingual skills.
- Experience with OneSite property management software.
