Housing Solutions Inc. is seeking a Residential Remodeling/New Construction Estimator to join their team. This role is crucial for assisting the company in making profitable business decisions by gathering information and preparing accurate estimates. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential construction and remodeling, with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Fully understand the project scope and requirements by studying documentation, meeting with the design team, and visiting job sites.
- Collect necessary documentation such as plans, drawings, product selections, and project specifications.
- Determine the key variables for cost and conduct research to determine expected labor and materials costs.
- Gather quotes and negotiate with subcontractors to secure the best possible prices.
- Perform quantity take-offs, double check sub-contractor takeoffs.
- Create and submit estimates to the design team throughout the design process.
- Assist in preparing proposals and budgets using appropriate software.
- Order take-off materials as clients move from design into production.
Requirements
- 10+ years of residential construction experience.
- Ability to forecast building costs and knowledge of estimation formulas.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Good computer skills, specifically with Excel.
- Excellent research, writing, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience as an Estimator is a plus.
