About the position

The Residential Specialist at Intercept Health plays a crucial role in providing support and guidance to children and adolescents in a therapeutic group home setting. This position focuses on creating a structured environment that fosters positive behavioral, emotional, and developmental growth. The specialist will work closely with residents to implement treatment plans and serve as a role model, promoting socially effective values and behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a positive role model for children and adolescents in a therapeutic placement.
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of resident treatment plans.
  • Develop socially effective values, attitudes, and behaviors within residents through role modeling.
  • Ensure a structured therapeutic environment for residents with behavioral, emotional, or developmental needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D with at least six months of experience working with children, OR an Associate's Degree with at least three months of experience working with children, OR a Bachelor's Degree in a Virginia Department of Health Profession's approved Human Service degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in mental and behavioral health settings.
  • Certification in relevant therapeutic practices.
