About the position
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking to fill a Residential Supervisor II position. The Residential Supervisor II is responsible to supervise two residential homes located in Taunton, MA. This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" position in the Department of Developmental Services Emergency Plan. This means that whenever the Governor declares that the Commonwealth is in a state of emergency, the selected candidate will be required to report to work. The Residential Supervisor II position is in a program that operates 24-hours/7 days a week. Candidates must be flexible in their work schedule. The Department requires employees in this position to be able to perform Mandatory Overtime when circumstances dictate the need.
Responsibilities
- Supervision, training, evaluation, and scheduling of approximately 25 direct support staff.
- Implement consumer individual service plans (ISP).
- Provide direct support as needed to enhance the fulfillment of the consumer's human rights, individual control, and community membership.
- Monitor residential and consumer funds.
- Oversee consumer health coordination with nursing supports.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Department regulations, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- At least four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional experience in counseling, guidance, teaching or therapeutic services for individuals with developmental disabilities, of which at least two years must have been in a supervisory capacity.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with Microsoft programs.
- Experience working with individuals who have Intellectual Disabilities; Skills using communication styles and/or augmentative communication systems.
