About the position

The Residential Support Specialist is responsible for providing rehabilitative stabilization services to adults with severe mental illness or dual diagnoses. This role focuses on teaching independent, social, and daily living skills tailored to the participants' individual learning styles, strengths, and needs. The specialist will assist participants in acquiring and practicing daily living skills, monitor their symptoms and medication usage, and maintain a safe and organized home environment while providing crisis management as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide rehabilitative stabilization services for adults with severe mental illness or dual diagnoses.
  • Teach in-vivo independent, social, and daily living skills based on participants' learning styles, strengths, and needs.
  • Assist participants in acquiring and practicing daily living skills.
  • Monitor participants' symptoms and medication utilization regularly.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe home environment.
  • Provide crisis management when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency (GED).
  • Two years of experience in the human services field preferred.
  • Experience working with multi-ethnic populations.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, evenings, and holidays during emergencies or staff shortages.
