About the position

The Residential Youth Support Specialist role at Sevita involves providing support and guidance to youth facing various challenges, including those transitioning from out-of-home placements or involved in the juvenile justice system. The position focuses on establishing therapeutic relationships, assisting with daily living skills, and ensuring the well-being of the youth in a community-based residential care setting.

Responsibilities

• Orient youth within the program by providing compassion and assistance with individual plans and supervision.
• Establish therapeutic relationships focused on building trust and delivering direct support.
• Organize and determine recreational outings to observe behaviors and record observations.
• Coordinate and assist with household activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and life skills training.
• Provide transportation to school, activities, and appointments.
• Document and maintain thorough notes in collaboration with team members.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with at least 1 year of verifiable experience working with Youth At-Risk or a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Services, Criminal Justice, or Psychology.
• Experience providing service to teens ages 10-18 with emotional, medical, and behavioral disabilities.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
• A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach.
