About the position

The Resilience Counselor at Horizon House, Inc. is a full-time role focused on providing clinical support to individuals experiencing early episode psychosis. This position involves delivering individual and group cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family psycho-education, and case management services. The counselor will engage in outreach, maintain documentation, collaborate with treatment teams, and advocate for clients' rehabilitative processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual CBT, group CBT, and family psycho-education to clients with early episode psychosis.
  • Engage in outreach and recruitment activities.
  • Complete and maintain all chart documentation according to insurance and licensing regulations.
  • Ensure each client has input into developing and modifying their treatment plans.
  • Establish ongoing communication with the rehabilitation/treatment team and other professionals.
  • Serve as an advocate for clients in their rehabilitative process.
  • Perform phone and in-person screenings and provide intake assessments as needed.
  • Liaise with schools, employers, and vocational rehabilitation offices to support participants.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Professional Counseling, Psychology, or LMFT (licensed or license eligible).
  • Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Experience with community/home-based services preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental health interventions (CT-R, CBT, MI) and supports.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with early psychosis clients (ages 15-30).
  • Knowledge of support systems for substance users.
