About the position

The Assistant Manager at Pet Palace Resort is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility, ensuring that customer expectations are met and exceeded. This role involves supporting the District Manager and Resort Manager in various operational tasks, while also focusing on the care and compassion for pets. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in team development and maintaining a positive work environment that aligns with the company's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintain quality working standards of the facility.
• Initial point of contact for all client and pet issues, escalating to District Manager when needed.
• Encourage employees to work in a safe manner and operate accordingly.
• Lead and develop all Pet Care, Customer Service, and Grooming Specialist teams to maximum performance.
• Complete the recruitment, hiring, and promotion of employees.
• Manage employee schedules, payroll, and facility deposits.
• Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

• Energetic, caring, and passionate about animals.
• Attention to detail and ability to observe animal behaviors on a daily basis.
• Ability to operate basic computer software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Previous management experience required.
• Experience managing 50 or more employees.
• 1 or more years of experience in an animal environment.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours.
