About the position

The Resort Associate at Pet Paradise is responsible for providing care and supervision for pets in a safe and engaging environment. This role involves physical labor, including pet handling, cleaning, and maintaining the facility, while ensuring the well-being of the animals. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and interact with pets inside the resort and outside in play yards.
  • Follow directions on feeding times, amounts, and types of food.
  • Maintain cleanliness of suites and dog runs by disinfecting, washing floors, scrubbing walls, and removing animal waste.
  • Empty trash, mop floors, and clean restrooms, common areas, and the employee breakroom.
  • Monitor and record important information about pets, reporting any unusual behaviors or injuries to management and veterinarian services.
  • Use proper dog handling techniques as instructed by management.
  • Keep dogs secure and maintain a high standard of pet safety by adhering to training policies.

Requirements

  • Considerable physical labor including pet handling, walking, cleaning, and maintenance of suites.
  • True passion for working with animals.
  • Cheerful, friendly, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
  • Comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Flexibility to accommodate resort schedule needs including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
  • Ability to receive instructions and remain adaptive to change and training material.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in pet care or related fields.
  • Certification in pet first aid or CPR.
