About the position

The Resource Analyst position involves leading and implementing various programs related to fish management, including the Master Angler and state record fish programs. The role requires coordination of licensing and reporting for underwater spearfishing, as well as providing support and consultation on the use of Division information systems. This position is crucial for the administration of statewide programs within the Department of Natural Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Master Angler and state record fish programs, including coordinating review, approval, and awarding of Master Angler awards.
  • Implement the underwater spearfishing licensing and reporting program as required by Fisheries Order 219.
  • Serve as a recognized resource on the management of Division information and data systems.
  • Provide instruction and consultation to other Division staff in the use of Division information systems.
  • Support the administration of ASRA statewide programs.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in a physical, biological, or natural resource science, resource management, resource planning, engineering, or a related field.
  • Resource Analyst 9: No specific type or amount of experience required.
  • Resource Analyst 10: One year of professional experience in the protection, development, and maintenance of land, water, or natural resources.
  • Resource Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience in the protection, development, and maintenance of land, water, or natural resources, including one year equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
  • Resource Analyst 12: Three years of professional experience in the protection, development, and maintenance of land, water, or natural resources, including one year equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
