About the position

The Resource Coordinator plays a crucial role in disaster case management by identifying and connecting local community resources to support families and individuals affected by disasters. This position involves outreach services to raise public awareness of available resources and coordination between various local agencies. The coordinator serves as a liaison, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to empower clients in building better lives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach in the community to raise public awareness of the disaster case management program and connect with local agencies to identify all resources available for the program.
  • Participate in local meetings and events to build relationships between community members and city officials.
  • Complete and maintain a database of all identified community agencies.
  • Serve as a community liaison between Family Endeavors and local entities who are interested in providing services to families.
  • Communicate daily with supervisor and data entry to ensure the maintenance of the database and all new community agencies.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service by placing the child, family, Veteran, or client first.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields, or a High School diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in child welfare, emergency disaster response, and/or recovery environments is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to work independently.
  • Sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are preferred.
