About the position

The Resource Family Specialist I/II/III position at OKDHS involves working in Child Welfare to positively impact the safety and well-being of children and families in Oklahoma. This role includes extensive training for new employees and offers opportunities for career advancement based on experience and education. The position requires a commitment to supporting foster care and adoption activities, providing in-home support, and conducting family assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operations, planning, and oversight of foster care and adoption activities.
  • Deliver in-home support and social work services for families in or approved for adoption or foster care.
  • Provide training and consultation to foster families and other placement providers.
  • Complete family assessments and reassess annually.
  • Review child's history and coordinate placement of children.

Requirements

  • Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university or 3 years of experience related to child welfare work for Level I.
  • A bachelor's degree in any field or one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist for Level II.
  • A Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist or two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist for Level III.
