About the position
The Senior LinkAge Line Resource Specialist at Central Minnesota Council on Aging plays a crucial role in supporting older adults and their families by providing information and resources through inbound calls. This part-time position focuses on assisting clients with navigating Medicare and other benefits, ensuring they receive the necessary support to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide phone assistance to older adults and their families to evaluate their needs and connect them to community services and resources.
- Research service options and share information to offer comprehensive, objective support to clients regarding long-term care services, housing options, caregiver support, home services, and other public benefits.
- Provide advocacy or referral on behalf of a caller if required to obtain needed services.
- Provide information and education on the topic of Medicare and health insurance.
Requirements
- Experience in customer service or a related field, preferably with older adults.
- Knowledge of Medicare and health insurance options is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
