About the position

The Resources and Communication Specialist position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, Division of Administration, Branch of Information Resources Management. The role primarily involves managing content for internal and external websites, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, and producing multimedia communications. The position supports the Office of the Solicitor's communication efforts and requires collaboration with various stakeholders to maintain accurate and relevant information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the content for the Office of the Solicitor's internal and external websites, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Publish the Office of the Solicitor's monthly newsletter.
  • Serve as a production coordinator for multimedia communications deliverables.
  • Format and edit technical content for style and organization before dissemination.
  • Collaborate with content stakeholders to develop new website content and purge outdated information.
  • Provide Microsoft 365 OneDrive and SharePoint file management and support.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Experience in the design, maintenance, and use of information sharing systems and collaboration software.
  • Experience creating multimedia communication deliverables for an organization.
  • Experience reviewing materials for technical accuracy and style.
  • Experience supporting Section 508 accessibility in communications and information technology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with web accessibility standards and practices.
  • Familiarity with multimedia production tools and techniques.
