About the position

The Resources Training Coordinator (Functional Training Coordinator) position at the Department of the Treasury is responsible for developing and coordinating the functional training plan for the Small Business Self Employed (SBSE) division. This role involves planning, organizing, and delivering training programs, ensuring compliance with mandatory training requirements, and evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives. The position offers opportunities for career progression within the federal service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the fiscal year local functional training plan in adherence to functional work plan assumptions.
  • Plan and coordinate all functional training and changes in the use of resources.
  • Recommend changes to procedures and practices as needed.
  • Obtain on-site and off-site space for training, and provide necessary training equipment and materials.
  • Prepare, monitor, and maintain coordination of the Functional Site Training Plan.
  • Advise management of training needs identified through various sources.
  • Provide functional site training plans and reconciliation reports to Planning & Analysis and Business Operating Division staffs.
  • Prepare estimates of training costs to ensure proper budgeting for training activities.
  • Update the functional training section of the filing season readiness plan.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate the overall effectiveness of the training program, and prepare reports summarizing activities.
  • Recommend solutions for improving the effectiveness of the training program.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, including experience interpreting tax laws and procedures, and delivering training materials.
  • A Master's degree or equivalent degree demonstrating necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Two full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree in a related field.
  • A combination of qualifying graduate education and experience equivalent to the amount required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with relevant systems such as IDRS.
  • Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.
  • Experience with training methods and classroom delivery.
