About the position
The PRN Respiratory Therapist at Woodlawn Hospital is responsible for providing respiratory therapy services to both inpatient and outpatient populations. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to respond to emergency situations, ensuring high-quality patient care in alignment with the hospital's mission and core values.
Responsibilities
- Perform Inpatient and Outpatient Respiratory Therapy procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Respond to Code Blue, Condition H, Dr Section, and C-Sections, assisting in emergency resuscitation.
- May be trained to perform Endotracheal Intubation.
- Perform Arterial Blood Gases as outlined by departmental procedure and policy.
- Check and maintain all oxygen equipment for the hospital.
- Work independently and cooperatively with other staff members.
- Adapt to variations in scheduling, including overtime and work schedule changes.
Requirements
- Diploma as a Graduate of School of Respiratory Therapy and/or credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
- Credentialed by the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
- Licensed by the state of Indiana as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
- Must possess Basic Life Support certification or obtain prior to providing direct patient care.
- Must maintain BLS certification per hospital policy.
- Must possess and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or be willing to obtain in a timely manner.
