About the position

As a PRN Respiratory Therapist at Physicians Regional Healthcare System, you will play a crucial role in the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory procedures and services. Your responsibilities will include the treatment, rehabilitation, and diagnostics as prescribed by the physician. You will be tasked with the transcription and implementation of physician orders pertaining to the practice of respiratory care, ensuring that all procedures are carried out with precision and care. In this role, you will be responsible for the proper assessment, observation, and monitoring of signs and symptoms, as well as the general response to respiratory therapy and diagnostic testing. You will implement changes in treatment as per the physician's orders and will need to possess the ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures when necessary. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals will be essential to ensure effective and efficient patient care, ultimately leading to the desired patient outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Administer pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory procedures and services.
  • Transcribe and implement physician orders pertaining to respiratory care.
  • Assess, observe, and monitor signs and symptoms related to respiratory therapy and diagnostic testing.
  • Implement changes in treatment pursuant to physician's orders.
  • Initiate emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • FL RRT License.
  • Minimum of one (1) year adult critical care experience in a hospital setting.
  • ACLS/BLS certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • PALS certification preferred.
  • NRP certification preferred.
  • ACCS certification preferred.
  • 2 years of critical care experience preferred.
