About the position
The Respiratory Therapist (RT) position at Select Specialty Hospital involves providing respiratory care to critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, quality improvement, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient recovery and independence. The position offers a full-time dayshift schedule with no mandatory overtime and includes a sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating patient and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
- Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
- Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
- Promoting continuous quality improvement.
- Teaching and counseling patients and their families.
Requirements
- Must possess 'Active' CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
- Current state licensure required.
- Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
