About the position
The Respiratory Therapist (RT) position at William Bee Ririe Hospital involves providing essential respiratory therapy services in a hospital environment. The role includes performing diagnostic tests, administering medical gases, and maintaining equipment, all while collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic testing related to respiratory therapy.
- Collect and analyze blood gas specimens.
- Document findings in medical records.
- Perform EKGs and file reports.
- Formulate teaching plans for patients.
- Administer medical gases and breathing therapy modalities.
- Maintain respiratory therapy equipment.
- Provide mechanical ventilation support.
- Perform pulmonary tests and assist with airway management in Labor and Delivery.
- Conduct stress tests and set up Holter/event monitors.
Requirements
- Current CRT or RRT license in Nevada.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications with PALS and NRP obtained within six months of hire.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to care for patients.
- Current Nevada Blood Technologist or General Supervisor License (or must apply for gas technologist license within 30 days of hire).
- One year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting preferred.
- Experience in ER and Labor & Delivery preferred.
