Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of respiratory care and sleep center operations
  • Provide patient education utilizing respiratory care and sleep center-specific protocols
  • Assess patient's respiratory status and develop individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and proper use of respiratory equipment
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Sleep Education: To be completed within 1 year of employment

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Respiratory Care required
  • Successful completion of a sleep technology program. Credential to be completed within one year of employment
  • At least five years' experience in the acute Respiratory Care medicine to include: General Floor Care, Emergent Medical and Trauma Stabilization/Treatment, Newborn/NICU Stabilization; Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics and Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation preferred
  • 1 year experience in the performance of sleep diagnostic and therapy studies preferred
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
  • Certified or Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Licensed to practice respiratory care in the State of Colorado

Nice-to-haves

  • Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology OR successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technician preferred
  • Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (PRSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential to be completed within one year of employment
