About the position

The Respiratory Therapist at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for providing direct respiratory care to patients across various clinical settings. This role involves evaluating and administering respiratory modalities based on patient assessments, ensuring optimal care delivery, and educating patients on respiratory health topics.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct respiratory care to patients in all areas of the clinic.
• Evaluate and administer routine modes of respiratory care based on patient assessments.
• Perform respiratory care procedures according to physician orders and department policies.
• Educate patients on pulmonary topics including respiratory medications and equipment usage.
• Enter orders for and perform chest x-rays as needed.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests, six-minute walk tests, and spirometry.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Graduate of a Technical School
• Up to 1 Year of Experience
• Kansas Respiratory Therapist License
• BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
