About the position
The Respiratory Therapy Instructor position at a technical school in Uniontown, PA, involves teaching and demonstrating clinical skills to students in the field of respiratory therapy. Responsibilities
- Teaching RT classes as assigned.
- Demonstrating and instructing clinical skills to ensure appropriate learning experiences for students.
- Gathering and submitting student documentation as required by each clinical skill.
- Instructing classes per schedule; grading tests, projects, and other assignments in a timely manner, evaluating students regularly.
- Keeping students informed of their progress by completing progress reports and Advising Forms at specified intervals.
- Recording class attendance daily and reporting at-risk students to the supervisor and campus director.
- Providing annual documentation of continuing professional growth, licenses, certifications, or degrees required to teach assigned courses.
- Participating in Interdepartmental and Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings, and attending scheduled school events each semester.
- Obtaining and maintaining any certifications and licenses required, along with background checks, vaccinations, or other requirements of the clinical sites.
- Performing other duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (required).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist PA state license (required).
- At least 4 years of work experience in the specific field of instruction (5 years preferred).
- At least 4 years of teaching experience in the field.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching respiratory therapy courses.
- Additional certifications related to respiratory therapy.
