About the position
The Relief Respite Counselor position at Riverside Community Care is an entry-level role focused on supporting individuals in crisis as they transition back into the community. The counselor will work during evenings, overnights, and weekends in an adult mental health facility, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure quality care and consumer safety.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and implement daily operations of the facility.
- Ensure quality of care for consumers.
- Conduct intake of new consumers.
- Implement treatment plans as directed.
- Facilitate group sessions for consumers.
- Supervise consumers to ensure safety and stabilization.
- Perform occasional home visits to assess consumer needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required for local travel.
- Associate's degree with one year of experience required, or High School Diploma with three years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in a mental health setting strongly preferred.
