About the position

The Respite Provider role at LSI involves providing essential respite care services to families in the Waterloo and surrounding Cedar Valley area. This part-time position is designed to support parents or primary caregivers by offering them a break from the daily responsibilities of caring for a child or adult with a disability. The Respite Provider will work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the families, and may have the opportunity to work from home after a probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to a child or adult with a disability while their parent or guardian is absent.
• Maintain a safe and nurturing home-based environment for clients.
• Work in the client's home, community, or potentially in your own home.
• Respond to requests for services from families, which may vary in frequency and duration.
• Document timekeeping and care provided using basic computer skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
• Basic computer skills for timekeeping and documentation.
