The elementary teacher at Sterling Elementary plays a crucial role in the instructional process by serving as the classroom leader. This involves creating a culture of effectiveness by setting high standards and expectations for all students. The teacher will teach courses assigned by the principal or supervisor, which align with their licensure area. This may include combined grade classes or specialized subjects such as math, science, or literacy. The teacher will prepare course objectives and outlines for the course of study, adhering to curriculum guidelines and state requirements. Furthermore, the teacher will guide the learning process towards achieving the standards outlined by the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, in alignment with the goals established by the CMS Strategic Plan. Clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects will be established and communicated to students, with written evidence of preparation provided upon request from the principal or their designee.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Relevant degree in Education, content area, or related field.
