About the position
The Restaurant Accountant at Chick-in Waffle plays a crucial role in managing the financial health of the restaurant group. This position involves overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting operational goals through effective financial management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restaurant accounting and bookkeeping, with proficiency in relevant software and practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Prepare, analyze, and report on profit and loss statements and other financial statements to aid in business decision-making.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking and valuation for all locations.
- Process accounts payable and monitor cash flow, working closely with our operations team to maintain efficient cash management.
- Payroll processing.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support strategic planning and growth goals.
- Conduct regular financial audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments, providing financial insights and support for business initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a restaurant accountant or bookkeeper is required.
- Proficiency in R365 accounting software is essential, with a strong understanding of its application for restaurant management.
- Demonstrated experience in inventory management, profit and loss analysis, and accounts payable processes.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey financial insights effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
