About the position

The Assistant General Manager at Paradies Lagardère is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences in the Dining Division at San Francisco International Airport. This role involves overseeing daily operations, training staff, maintaining high standards of service, and fostering a positive work environment. The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to uphold the company's mission of delivering first-class service and hospitality while managing the restaurant's efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Work a weekly schedule of designated shifts in coordination with other managers
  • Supervise daily floor operations including occasional opening and closing duties
  • Maintain a focus on ensuring all guests have a positive experience
  • Maintain thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and steps of service
  • Oversee new hire training and foster a TEAM culture
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching of all FOH staff
  • Assist with periodic performance reviews
  • Maintain accurate daily records and cash handling procedures
  • Ensure exceptional presentation in all areas including products, displays, signage, and facilities
  • Provide a safe work environment and ensure execution of food safety practices
  • Understand and adhere to all SFO / TSA rules and regulations
  • Complete daily administrative duties timely and effectively
  • Maintain effective communication with other management personnel
  • Participate in and foster all Company Training programs
  • Maintain a productive and positive work environment
  • Assist in candidate recruitment and onboarding
  • Ensure compliance with HR protocol
  • Perform monthly compliance walk-throughs
  • Assist in mediating and resolving employee conflicts
  • Maintain Department calendar including meetings and workshops
  • Assist in creation and enforcement of biweekly training topics
  • Participate in company Safety Team
  • Support management in employee morale programs

Requirements

  • Experience in food and beverage management
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain high standards of service
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
  • Experience with cash handling and record-keeping
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
