About The Position

Metro Cinema is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead operations and enhance the moviegoing experience at their upscale cinema in Chelsea, set to open in April/May 2025. The role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting pre-opening processes, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences through effective management and leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven success as a General Manager in a high-volume fine dining or upscale casual restaurant.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations from FOH to BOH.
• Proven skills in managing private dining operations and curating premier experiences.
• Track record of staff retention and leading high-performing teams of 25+ employees.
• Skilled in P&L management, budgeting, and cost control.
• Knowledge of local HR practices and policies.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in hotels or private event venues.
• Sufficiently technically savvy to become proficient with key IT systems and infrastructure.
• Keen knowledge of the New York City restaurant market.

• Ensure Event Success by collaborating with kitchen and events teams for flawless execution of private screenings and events.
• Foster Team Collaboration to ensure seamless communication between Front of House and Back of House teams.
