About the position

The Restaurant General Manager at Hotel del Coronado is responsible for overseeing the operations of the food and beverage outlet, ensuring exceptional guest service and financial profitability. This role involves managing a large team, implementing marketing strategies, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards, all while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all outlet operations including guest service standards, product quality, cost controls, and overall profitability.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance through supervision, professional development, and recognition.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
  • Initiate and implement marketing and up-selling techniques to promote restaurant offerings and maximize revenue.
  • Recruit, interview, and train team members to ensure they have current knowledge of outlet offerings and local events.

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of leadership experience in restaurants.
  • Strong beverage knowledge and Union management experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting in a hospitality setting.
