About the position

The Restaurant General Manager at IHOP is responsible for leading the restaurant team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining operational excellence. This role involves developing professional relationships with staff and guests, implementing training programs, managing financial performance, and adhering to regulatory compliance. The General Manager will also oversee marketing initiatives and maintain high standards of food quality and service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with restaurant staff and guests.
  • Implement the Craft Training program for hourly employees.
  • Execute annual objectives related to financial performance and guest service.
  • Manage the restaurant floor and handle guest complaints professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing team.
  • Conduct ongoing coaching and administer the hourly compensation plan.
  • Complete performance appraisals as scheduled.
  • Maintain food quality, presentation, and service standards.
  • Manage inventory levels and equipment functionality.
  • Implement national and local marketing promotions.
  • Complete necessary reports and paperwork efficiently.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the restaurant industry.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Basic math skills.
