About the position

The Restaurant General Manager at Carrols Corporation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a million-dollar restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, quality food, and efficient management. This role involves developing business disciplines in various areas such as accounting, human resources, training, marketing, and cost controls, while fostering a culture of personal development and career advancement for the management team.

Responsibilities

  • Work a 50+ hour work week, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Develop and improve the restaurant's public relations through frequent contact with the general public and community organizations.
  • Communicate with outside suppliers regarding the delivery of quality supplies and repairs to restaurant equipment.
  • Maintain staffing levels through effective planning and scheduling in accordance with company policy and labor laws.
  • Supervise staff to ensure prompt and courteous service, product quality, equipment maintenance, and sanitation standards.
  • Utilize company training tools to provide on-the-job training for crew employees.
  • Implement and execute financial controls to ensure proper accountability of company funds and supplies.
  • Resolve customer complaints tactfully to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Appraise performance of subordinates and recognize job performance appropriately.
  • Prepare projections of future sales and expenses to establish profit objectives.
  • Exercise managerial judgment in employee relations and personnel actions.
  • Complete and maintain internal records and reports as required by law and company policy.
  • Train and develop Assistant Managers and Manager Trainees in management skills and technical knowledge.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees and customers.

Requirements

  • Ability to work a 50+ hour work week, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Experience in managing a restaurant or similar environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to implement financial controls and manage budgets effectively.
  • Experience in training and developing staff.
