About the position

The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) at Taco Bell is responsible for providing overall leadership and direct supervision of operations in an individual restaurant. The RGM ensures that the restaurant meets or exceeds its annual operating plan by focusing on customer service excellence, maintaining company standards, supervising food handling procedures, and exercising financial control to achieve profit margin targets. The role involves hands-on operational work, training employees, and responding to customer service needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain fast, accurate service and positive guest relations.
  • Ensure products are consistent with company quality standards.
  • Drive a customer-focused culture by resolving customer issues and training staff.
  • Track, analyze, and resolve sources of customer complaints.
  • Ensure food safety standards are met.
  • Develop and drive the restaurant's annual operating plan.
  • Analyze sales, labor, inventory, and controllables to meet margin and sales growth targets.
  • Train and mentor subordinates on financial analyses and profitability tips.
  • Monitor inventory, food preparation, and order fulfillment daily.
  • Establish and monitor restaurant speed with service (SWS) targets.
  • Direct all restaurant level HR activities including hiring, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Provide hands-on training for management staff and develop Shift Managers and Assistant General Managers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Supervisory experience in a food service or retail environment.
  • Ability to maintain financial controls and coach hourly employees.
  • Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction, financial performance, and employee satisfaction.
