About the position

The Restaurant General Manager at Carrols Corporation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a Burger King restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, quality food, and efficient management of resources. This role involves managing a team, maintaining financial controls, and fostering a positive work environment while also engaging with the community and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a million-plus dollar-a-year restaurant and develop business disciplines in various areas including Accounting, Human Resources, Training, Marketing, Sales Building, and Cost Controls.
  • Work a 50+ hour work week, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Maintain staffing levels through effective planning and scheduling to ensure efficient restaurant operations.
  • Supervise subordinate staff to ensure prompt and courteous customer service and compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Utilize company training tools to provide on-the-job training for crew employees.
  • Implement and execute financial controls to maintain accountability of company funds and supplies.
  • Resolve customer complaints tactfully to maintain satisfaction.
  • Appraise performance of subordinates and recognize job performance appropriately.
  • Prepare projections of future sales and expenses to establish profit objectives.
  • Exercise sound managerial judgment in employee relations and personnel actions.
  • Complete and maintain internal records and reports as required by law and company policy.
  • Train and develop Assistant Managers and Manager Trainees in management skills and technical knowledge.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees and customers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the restaurant industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of financial controls and budgeting processes.
