About the position

The Restaurant General Manager at Carrols Corporation is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a million-dollar restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, quality food, and efficient management. This role involves developing business disciplines in various areas such as accounting, human resources, training, marketing, and cost controls, while fostering a culture of personal development and career advancement within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Work a 50+ hour work week, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Maintain frequent contact with the public, businesses, and community organizations to enhance public relations.
  • Communicate with outside suppliers regarding quality supplies and equipment repairs.
  • Coordinate with Home Office personnel on public policy and procedures relevant to restaurant operations.
  • Manage staffing levels through effective planning, hiring, and scheduling to ensure efficient restaurant operations.
  • Supervise staff to ensure prompt and courteous customer service, product quality, and compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Utilize company training tools to provide on-the-job training for crew employees.
  • Implement financial controls to ensure accountability of company funds and proper ordering of supplies.
  • Resolve customer complaints tactfully to maintain satisfaction.
  • Appraise subordinate performance and recognize job performance appropriately.
  • Prepare sales and expense projections to establish profit objectives.
  • Exercise managerial judgment in employee relations and personnel actions.
  • Complete and maintain internal records and reports as required by law and company policy.
  • Train and develop Assistant Managers and Manager Trainees in management skills and technical knowledge.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees and customers.

Requirements

  • Ability to work a 50+ hour work week.
  • Experience in managing a restaurant or similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with staff, customers, and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of financial controls and reporting in a restaurant setting.
  • Ability to train and develop staff effectively.
