About the position

As a Restaurant General Manager at Carrols Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in the operation of one of our BURGER KING restaurants, which generates over a million dollars in annual revenue. This position is not just about managing a restaurant; it’s about leading a team and ensuring that every aspect of the restaurant runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for developing business disciplines in various areas including Accounting, Human Resources, Training, Marketing, Sales Building, and Cost Controls. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of excellence and commitment to service, which is at the heart of Carrols Corporation's mission. In this role, you will work a demanding schedule of over 50 hours per week, which includes nights, weekends, and some holidays. You will frequently interact with the public, local businesses, and community organizations to enhance the restaurant's public relations. Communication with suppliers and the Home Office will also be a key part of your responsibilities, ensuring that quality supplies are delivered and that the restaurant adheres to company policies and procedures. You will oversee staffing levels, ensuring that the restaurant is adequately staffed and that employees are trained effectively. Your supervisory role will include ensuring that customers receive prompt and courteous service, that products meet quality standards, and that the restaurant maintains a clean and attractive environment. You will implement financial controls to manage the restaurant’s budget, oversee daily operations, and resolve customer complaints to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Your managerial judgment will be essential in handling employee relations, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment. You will also be responsible for training and developing Assistant Managers and Manager Trainees, preparing them for future leadership roles within the company. Responsibilities

  • Ability to work a 50+ hour work week, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Frequent contact with the general public, businesses, and community organizations to develop and improve public relations.
  • Communicate with outside suppliers regarding the delivery of quality supplies and repairs to restaurant equipment.
  • Occasional communication with Home Office personnel regarding public policy and procedures relevant to restaurant operations.
  • Maintain staffing levels through effective planning to ensure efficient restaurant operation in accordance with company policy and labor laws.
  • Supervise subordinate staff to ensure prompt and courteous customer service and compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Utilize company training tools to provide on-the-job training for crew employees in all aspects of restaurant operation.
  • Implement and execute restaurant-level financial controls to ensure proper accountability of company funds.
  • Order supplies as needed and maintain accountability for received materials.
  • Receive and resolve customer complaints tactfully to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Appraise performance of subordinates to ensure job performance is recognized appropriately.
  • Prepare projections of future sales and expenses to establish profit objectives.
  • Exercise sound managerial judgment in employee relations and personnel actions.
  • Complete, approve, submit, and maintain files on all internal records and reports as required by law and company policy.
  • Train and develop Assistant Managers and Manager Trainees in management skills and technical knowledge.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees and customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
