The Restaurant Operations Closer at Something Better Foods plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant during closing hours. The Closer is responsible for preparing high-quality meals, managing customer interactions, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.

Responsibilities

  • Close the restaurant and ensure readiness for the next day's operations.
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders.
  • Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash and card payments securely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and provide information about menu items.
  • Answer customer inquiries and assist with packing and handing out orders.
  • Ensure the dining area is clean and presentable.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns with a positive attitude and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Operate food processing equipment and machinery to mix, blend, or process ingredients.
  • Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Support marketing strategies, local artisan collaborations, catering services, and special events to drive restaurant growth.
  • Actively participate in special events or meetings once a quarter, typically held on Fridays or Sundays.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of restaurant industry experience.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess or able to acquire the ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, special events, and holidays.
