About the position

The Server at The Doliver of Tanglewood is responsible for providing exceptional dining service to residents and guests in a senior living community. This role involves ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment, taking and delivering food orders, and interacting with residents to enhance their dining experience. The position requires a commitment to serving seniors, including those with dementia, and maintaining high standards of food service and safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the dining room is clean and set up to company standards for all meals and functions.
• Greet all residents and guests with a smile and ensure each resident has a place to sit.
• Take food orders, present them to kitchen staff, and deliver meals to residents and guests in a timely manner.
• Ensure accurate fulfillment of orders and check food quality and presentation.
• Respond quickly to resident and guest requests.
• Interact with guests in the dining room to ensure their satisfaction.
• Pour and refill drinks in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all food handling, food service, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Assist in setting tables, removing dirty dishes, disposing of waste materials, and restocking inventory.
• Clean and set up the serving area according to company standards and ensure it is kept clean.
• Ensure residents' safety by managing walkers in the dining room.
• Make each resident or guest feel valued and important.
• Fully understand the menu and be able to explain selections to residents and guests.
• Maintain or exceed standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Attend all required in-services and be a member of the community's emergency response team.

Requirements

• Must be or become within 60 days an accredited food handler per State guidelines.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months to one year of related experience preferred.
• Great customer service attitude.
• Ability to interact well with staff, residents, and guests.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Able to work independently or with others in completing assigned tasks.
