About the position

The Restorative Care Aide is responsible for providing direct resident care in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. This role focuses on ensuring quality resident-focused programs and participating in continuous quality improvement activities, collaborating closely with the resident care team.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with transfers and walking.
• Assists patients with range of motion and strength training exercises.
• Communicates and documents service and any condition changes.
• Assists resident/patient with dressing/grooming.
• Assists resident/patient with amputation and prosthesis care.
• Assists with eating and swallowing exercises.
• Maintains proper documentation of records regarding patient care that is reviewed routinely by DON or nursing designee.
• Assists with exercises to develop patient cognitive and communication skills.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates proficiency in motivating residents to participate in and complete restorative programs.
• Complies with facility guidelines for documentation and physicians' orders.
• Relates well to residents, their families, and facility staff.
• Interacts well with therapists and implements individual programs as developed.
• Maintains equipment and supplies for treatment.
• Maintains consistent resident care schedule and is efficient in use of time.
• Able to perform duties with a minimum of supervision.
• Identifies potential problems/issues and reports to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Maintains a professional attitude and appearance.

Requirements

• 1 year of caregiving experience (Required)
• Valid CPR Certification (Required)
