About the position

The Restorative Justice Specialist & Family Liaison at Youth Alliance aims to transform responses to youth wrongdoing from punitive measures to restorative practices that promote healing and repair. This role focuses on connecting with students and families, providing training and technical assistance, and supporting restorative practices in schools and communities to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Implement school program objectives and deliverables related to restorative justice programs.
• Establish collaborative relationships with staff, administrators, and community organizations.
• Facilitate Restorative Conferences, Conversations, and Circles among students and staff.
• Develop and implement a referral system for Restorative Conferences for youth involved in school discipline matters.
• Support alignment of programs with district priorities and safety plans.
• Consult with Parent Education Coordinator to support youth components in parent education.
• Complete administrative tasks including data entry, budgeting, and invoicing.
• Conduct intake assessments and prepare participants for restorative processes.
• Prepare written reports and maintain database records.
• Support training for parents and community members in restorative practices.
• Engage in professional development and stay updated on best practices in restorative justice.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Education or Social Work preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience coordinating programs.
• Trained in restorative justice practices.
• Experience leading teams and conducting presentations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
