About the position

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is seeking an enthusiastic Retail & Community Engagement Coordinator who is passionate about food quality, customer service, and community engagement. In this part-time role, you will work within a dynamic team that offers a unique menu selection, including scratch-baked bread, pastries, soups, salads, and sandwiches made with honest, whole ingredients. The position requires availability to work during peak lunch hours from Monday to Friday, with additional hours during the busy holiday season, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. The ideal candidate will have a 'can do' attitude, actively listen to guests, and confidently suggest meal and gift items to both first-time guests and returning regulars. You will be responsible for organizing and leading a team to support the execution of holiday baskets and merchandise, greeting and welcoming guests, merchandising, daily basket making, stocking shelves, personal shopping assistance, inventory management, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the store. Additionally, you will engage with local schools for fundraising events, host community partnership events, and collaborate with marketing and home office teams to ensure successful store events that reflect the brand's values and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests to the brand.
  • Organize and lead a team to support the execution of holiday baskets and merchandise.
  • Engage local schools to participate in Knead Dough Fundraiser events.
  • Host community partnership fundraising events.
  • Partner with marketing and home office to host brand-wide events and classes.
  • Facilitate partnerships with realtors and title companies to drive gift basket and catering sales.
  • Assist with merchandising, daily basket making, stocking shelves, and personal shopping assistance.
  • Attend and participate in weekly management meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food handling and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of customer service/retail experience.
  • Ability to work quickly and learn from mistakes.
  • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate varying shifts and peak hours.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in food service or hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of local community engagement strategies.
  • Ability to suggest meal and gift items confidently.
