About the position

The Athleta Asset Manager will oversee the administration of the global Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, support photo shoots, and manage retouching processes. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the smooth organization, processing, and delivery of creative assets, while optimizing workflow and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the global DAM system, ensuring all assets are properly organized and uploaded.
  • Develop and enforce creative asset workflow procedures across cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance DAM tool efficiency.
  • Manage access rights and permissions within the DAM system for all users.
  • Provide weekly updates on new uploads and system usage statistics to relevant stakeholders.
  • Acquire, name, and add keywords/metadata to archived photography, adhering to internal controls and retention policies.
  • Train internal teams on new naming conventions, workflows, and the use of the DAM system.
  • Collaborate with photo shoot and retouching teams to ensure consistent file management from capture to final upload.
  • Maintain and update Digital Tech Guidelines and coordinate with Digital Technicians before each shoot.
  • Manage the return and backup of hard drives from photo shoots.
  • Create and maintain a retouching review calendar, coordinating with art directors, creative teams, marketing, and project managers.
  • Traffic image assets for Athleta's print and digital creative needs, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for retouching vendors and creative teams, communicating retouching directions, revisions, and approvals.
  • Ensure feedback from review rounds has been implemented before final approval.
  • Manage retouching budgets, open POs, and reconcile vendor invoices.
  • Oversee the Ad Hoc Project Intake Form process, assess internal bandwidth, and address capacity limits.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in project management and Digital Asset Management (DAM).
  • Knowledge of the retouching process and creative production is preferred.
  • Experience managing retouching vendors and creative teams.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot image files.
  • Skilled in vendor management, including quality control and price negotiation.
  • Effective decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with AirTable is a plus.
