About the position

The Retail Assistant General Manager at Story Cannabis is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves managing patient check-ins, maintaining inventory, and leading a team in a professional and compassionate environment. The Assistant General Manager will also handle financial transactions and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the store.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional and safe distribution process for all patients in compliance with federal and state guidelines.
  • Greet patients with compassion and professionalism upon entering the retail store.
  • Accurately enter patient information into the database and verify eligibility for purchase.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, going the extra mile for patients.
  • Handle cash and debit transactions quickly and precisely while maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
  • Work with a diverse group of employees and patients, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Manage the Patient Check-In process, ensuring accurate recordkeeping of patient profiles.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the retail store Sales Floor and Staff Breakroom, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Conduct opening/closing inventory counts of retail store products as needed.
  • Work cohesively as part of a team and assist with special projects as designated by management.
  • Dispense medical marijuana to patients and ensure the retail area is clean and organized.
  • Ensure all stored marijuana is accounted for and that there is adequate stock for daily operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations in the absence of the Store Manager, including financials and inventory management.
  • Manage the dispensary floor, including displays and cleaning procedures.
  • Answer telephone and email inquiries, providing knowledgeable customer support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience in management and customer service is essential.
  • Strong mathematical skills and organizational abilities are required.
  • Proficient in navigating Windows and multiple applications, with expert typing skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds occasionally and stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be over 21 years of age and legally able to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of solid and liquid dosage medications and topicals dispensed is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the cannabis industry is strongly preferred.
